Just who is "Aerimus Apprehender?" For one, he's the Hero of this story. For another, he's a complete lunatic, as opposed to Kavian, who's just another normal lunatic. "Misguided" might be the best term for Aerimus; he always tries to do right, even if he doesn't have the faintest idea of what that is.

On another level, Aerimus Apprehender is a Dungeons & Dragons character created by a good friend of mine at Georgia Tech. If memory serves, Aerimus was a young, Indiana Jones type of archaeologist who left his hometown to... well, join the D&D campaign! Aerimus' current intelligence is no reflection on my friend, nor the real Aerimus he created.
