The inflamed character in the third panel is the lovable Yosemite Sam, from our cherished childhood memories of Loony Tunes. Could you imagine I found a gigantic archive of Yosemite Sam pictures from every cartoon he’s ever been in? It was over 750 jpegs, of which I only took 500 to find that image.

Why does Kavian say Shikaka in the seventh panel? He’s channeling Ave Ventura from the second movie, “When Nature Calls.” Shikaka is the sacred white bat Ace has been tasked to retrieve. Being that the bat is sacred, members of a certain African tribe will kneel every time someone says shikaka. Ace uses this weakness to his own comic ends.
